Properly Hanging Tapestries

Tapestries

Properly Hanging TapestriesHanging a tapestry depends on the type that it is. Some tapestries are finished with a second backing and some are not. For those with a backing, there are usually tabs or some type of sleeve through which a rod or dowel would be placed. Although a dowel rod works, the best option for hanging tapestries is with a decorative window rod. These rods not only work great for hanging tapestries, but they are also affordable and easy to find. Brackets for the rod would be installed on the wall where the tapestry would hang, helping to keep the piece of art a couple of inches out away from the wall. Of course, finials can be added to the rod to create a gorgeous and elegant look. However, flush mounting can be done using a rod and two picture hanging brackets with the nails at a 45-degree angle.
