Caring for Tapestry Wall Hangings
A growing number of people are turning to tapestry wall hangings as a means for enhancing the appearance of the home. The care of tapestry wall hangings is dependent upon whether the item is finished or unfinished. If a finished tapestry was purchased and it arrived with several creases, the item could actually be placed on an ironing board with a soft piece of muslin cloth covering it. Then with a steam iron, the creases could be carefully pressed out. However, if the wall hanging was unfinished, again the tapestry would be placed on an ironing board, but in this instance face down. Using the muslin piece of cloth, a steam iron would be used to remove the creases. However, if the creases are deep and the steam iron is not working, the tapestry would need professional attention.
